Luxury Comedy Series 2: Tales from Painted Hawaii

Starts E4 – Thursday 31st July @ 10pm

Series two of Luxury Comedy sees Noel, Dolly, Smooth and Andy relocated to a coffee shop on the edge of a volcano in Hawaii for more magical high jinks.

noelfeilding_NewsSee them battle a monster called Fantasy Block in an attempt to save their only viewer Terry from being killed by an asteroid. Watch them take on Reality Man the fantasy terrorist who’s turned the show into a reality TV show. Welcome back Fantasy Man, New York Cop, Joey Ramone and Secret Peter, get naked and dance to new music from the “Loose Tapestries”(Sergio Pizzorno, Kasabian) and gasp at the comic styling of guest stars including Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), Steve Oram (Sightseers), Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), Martin Trenaman (Phoneshop) and Simon Farnaby (Horrible Histories).

Here’s a sneak preview of all the episodes:

Episode 1
In this episode the cast of Magnum P.I. try to sacrifice Noel to a volcano. All hopes of being rescued rely on Paul Panfer, an internet sensation who remakes Elvis films on his mobile phone.

Episode 2
Noel gets Fantasy block (a weird strain of writers block).  If he doesn’t overcome this and write an ending to the show, Terry, his only viewer will be killed by an asteroid.

Episode 3
Noel’s show is turned into a reality T.V show by Reality Man (a fantasy terrorist) . Noel is evicted back to reality and gets a job working in a greasy spoon cafe.  Luckily for Noel, Fantasy Man and Big Chief Woolabum are on hand to help and hopefully save the day.

 Episode 4
Noel realises he is the only person in the show who isn’t cool. He has until the end of the episode to become cool  otherwise he will be destroyed by a race of alien cucumbers – who all worship the poet John Gay.

Episode 5
Noel has until the end of the episode to boost the ratings from nine to twenty five. If he doesn’t manage this  the show will be axed and he and all his characters will be put into storage and ultimately incinerated.

“a neo-psychedelic riot of mirth that regurgitates decades of memories of broad, Technicolor TV entertainment from The Banana Splits onwards,”

David Stubbs, The Guardian

“Fielding grins down like a fiendish blend of Peter Gabriel, Syd Barrett, Samuel Beckett and a TV-age Antonin Artaud, unsettling and hypnotising in equal measure. In these dreary times it’s as subversive as Bowie appearing on Tops of The Pops in a dress”- Stephen Armstrong, The Sunday Times

“if someone wanted to make TV for Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte then Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy would be it. The artwork, decadent use of colour and reckless abandonment of the rules of form is a delight to watch.”- Andy Johnson, Purple Revolver

“a dream-logic fusion of live action and animation with echoes of everything from The Kenny Everett Show to The Clangers”  –Mark Monahan, The Telegraph

DVD extras include Audio commentary with Noel and the Cast and a Behind the Scenes documentary.
